Hey Pastor,
As a pastor, I feel the pressure that the Easter can bring. It feels like the Superbowl of the church world, and you are carrying the pressure of the starting quarterback. That is a weight that can feel all too heavy at times. I just wanted to take a moment to say something simple, but important as you head into Easter weekend:
We see you.
We see the weight you’re carrying right now… the quiet pressure to make this Sunday “count.” The extra hours spent refining your message, organizing details, coordinating volunteers, thinking through parking, kids’ spaces, follow-up systems, and a hundred other moving parts that most people will never notice.
We see the questions running in the back of your mind: Will people show up? Will visitors come back? Will the message land? Will lives actually change?
Easter has a way of amplifying all of it. For many, it’s the biggest opportunity of the year. For you, it can also feel like the biggest test of the year. It can feel like every eye is on you and the expectations are high.
But before you step into the weekend, I want to remind you of something you already know, but may need to hear again: You are not responsible for the outcome. You are responsible for your obedience.
You can’t control who walks through the doors. You can’t control how people respond. You can’t manufacture transformation. What you can do is faithfully prepare. You can preach the Gospel clearly. You can love people intentionally. You can create space for others to encounter Jesus.
And that is enough.
Easter is not ultimately about attendance numbers, first-time guests, or even how “smooth” the service runs. It’s about the resurrection of Jesus; the same power that raises the spiritually dead to life. And that power was never dependent on your perfection.
So, take a breath.
Step into this weekend with confidence, not in your preparation, but in the One you’re pointing people to. Some seeds you plant this Sunday won’t show fruit for months, or even years. Some conversations will matter more than your sermon. Some moments that feel small to you will be significant to someone else. God is working in ways you won’t be able to measure by Monday morning.
So, pastor, stay faithful.
Preach Jesus. Love people. Trust God with the rest.
And when it’s all said and done, whether the room felt full or not, whether everything went according to plan or not; you can walk away knowing you showed up and were obedient to what God asked of you.
That matters more than anything.
We at Keenly are praying for you this Easter. Praying that you would experience joy in the middle of the responsibility, peace in the middle of the pressure, and a fresh reminder that you’re not carrying this alone.
We see you. And more importantly, God sees you too.
You’ve got this. Better yet, HE’s got this!
